Stories examined will include works by two or three of the following authors, as yet to be decided: Aesop, Sherman Alexie, J.G. Ballard, Donald Barthelme, Rebecca Brown, Raymond Carver Anton Chekov, John Cheever, the Brothers Grimm, Ernest Hemingway, Shirley Jackson, Denis Johnson, Gordon Lish, Flannery O'Conner, Tillie Olsen and Hubert Selby Jr. Don't feel you need to read any or all of these authors beforehand (although, if you have some time, of course do!) just bring pen and paper and the desire to write.
