Anglo-Saxon and Middle English influence will be examined for its impact on free verse, Hip-Hop, rock lyrics, and the 21st century re-emergence of rhythm and rhyme: Beowulf represents!
This workshop focuses on poetic prosody with emphasis on how the history of English language affects modern forms. Diction, meter, alliteration, end rhyme, enjambment, and the oral tradition will be discussed.
